IT Support Specialist (w/m/d)

Berlin, Potsdam
Full-time
Permanent employee

Hi there!

"Make the world a healthier place" is our mission at Data4Life. The IT Operations team plays a central role: we make sure our colleagues can always work with reliable, secure, and efficient digital tools and a well-functioning workplace infrastructure. By continuously developing our IT landscape and keeping it running smoothly, we enable teams across the organization to focus fully on their contribution to healthcare in Germany and beyond.

To strengthen our IT Operations team, we are looking for a dedicated IT Support Specialist (f/m/x). In this role you report directly to our Head of IT Operations and take ownership of our entire helpdesk infrastructure.

Your future role

  • As the first point of contact for all internal IT topics, you ensure reliable, high-quality support for around 40 employees at our Berlin and Potsdam locations.
  • Full ownership of end-user support lies with you, from independently handling complex hardware, software, and access requests to continuously improving support quality and user experience.
  • You continuously develop and optimize our Identity & Access Management in Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, ensuring secure, scalable, and clearly structured access processes.
  • You drive forward our authentication and security standards, particularly Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Conditional Access.
  • With tools such as Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Defender, you ensure professional endpoint management, strong endpoint security, and compliance with relevant security standards.
  • You look after our Atlassian environment (Jira and Confluence) and support teams with setting up new projects, optimizing workflows, and managing users and permissions.
  • You own our hardware and asset management end-to-end, from planning and procurement through lifecycle management to efficient, scalable onboarding setups.
  • You proactively advance process improvements, documentation, and automation to make workflows more efficient and scalable, and to keep the IT environment at our Berlin office running smoothly.

What you need to succeed

  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, IT operations, or a comparable role
  • Very good knowledge of macOS and Windows systems as well as common hardware, peripherals, and basic networking and troubleshooting topics
  • Hands-on experience with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365
  • Good understanding of core IT infrastructure topics such as VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, or DHCP
  • A proactive, solution-oriented way of working and strong problem-solving skills
  • You enjoy driving topics independently and being a reliable on-site IT contact in Berlin and Potsdam
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics clearly and patiently
  • You like being on-site: at least 4 days per week in Berlin, more often or in Potsdam when needed
  • Fluent English and German at B2/C1 level

Why you will love working with us

Impact everyone feels
Your work keeps our teams running smoothly. With a stable, secure, and modern IT environment, you create the basis for research and product development to move forward efficiently, backed by the long-term perspective of the Hasso Plattner Foundation.

More than classic IT support
